Business, Marketing

I have been hearing about them over and over from various episodes of the SEO Rockstars, Click This, Strikepoint, Net Income… listening to Greg Boser, Todd Friesen, Jensense, DaveN, SEGuru, Shoemoney, Danny Sullivan and all the great guest on these shows you will hear about Commission Junction several times. I have heard about SEO since 1999, but everything was a mystery. All I knew what I think i should do was keyword spam the metas. *LOL* I first got exposed to what really happens in SEO was with my job in a company that does websites for Doctors, Dentist and Lawyers and also does SEO of them. I first got exposed in 2004, then started doing SEO projects for personal clients in 2005. Yes I was a late bloomer. *LOL* Then when a friend of mine from work pointed out the SEO Rockstars, I started to get exposed to all these monetizing stuff that changed a lot in how I blog. Since I am a late bloomer, I just started seriously monetizing my sites January this year. With all these great stories and ebooks about Adsense, you think yes, Adsense alone, you can make it big. But I also realized it does not happen over night. It has a slow snowball effect, but at least it is continuously growing.

In another blog of mine that was targetted mainly for people from the Philippines started getting traffic. From Filipinos worldwide and quickly rose to PR5 and the site was just started June 1. It was getting hits from everywhere. Most of them I assume are Filipinos that are in different countries since the language of the site is in Tagalog, the main language of the Philippines. And Adsense does not know much about Tagalog. Although with the words Philippines in there, it was giving me ads like cheap flights to the Philippines, Philippine Call Centers and TFC Direct Cable TV. I knew I need to do something else with it. So I thought of looking for affiliates of companies that send money to the Philippines, and I found Xoom. And they affiliate program was by Commission Junction. I have heard so many positive feedback about them, and I told myself, now it is time to sign up.

When I was filling up the form, it had some form of CAPTCHA requiring me to enter a code. And I did not see any code, but I know the image was there. Since I see no code, I just press submit. I get an error message saying I entered an invalid code. I thought it was a Firefox problem with the Commission Junction website. I went to Internet Explorer and I got the same problem. I see no code. And I even went to the point to sending them an email saying their CAPTCHA does not work. Right after sending the email, I just tought of checking the block sites and that was it. www.cj.com was blocks by Firefox by default. I removed it from the block sites and the sign up form CAPTCHA on Commission Junction worked already.
