I once bought a book about taxes that was $20.00 and it had a mail-in rebate that will return $20.00. And I told myself, how can that happen? They spend on publishing the book, and the distribution of it and I buy it, and they pay me back the full amount? Well wherever my name goes to in the rebate form must be earning from the creation the mailing list, the database of people that all submitted the rebate form. After a 2 months I think, I did receive the $20.00 rebate so it was like a free book.
Now just recently, I found this link about Dish TV since it’s been sometime since I watch cable TV channels so I checked them out.
On their site, it says that you only pay $19.99 per month where you get 4 rooms of sattelite TV with free installation, free shipping of equipment, free DVR upgrade and a free gift worth $100. And the big text on their site says a there is a limited time offer that you get $200 back plus 3 months free! I haven’t read the details yet, no has looked for any fine print, but imagine that. you get 3 months free, and $200 is worth 10 months. So that is like more than a year free sattelite TV. I guess they are banking on the fact that they will make you very happy that you would want to pay and continue the service after 13 month. Cleaver idea to build customer loyalty. Building on it for the first year of service.
