Treadmill Choreography

Business, Marketing

Band OK Go has a very cool video for the song Here it Goes. Their video looks very amateur, homemade type of thing, but what they did is really some cool choreography where these 4 band members incorporate the use of 8 treadmills in a well-practiced dance routine.

Band OK Go members are Damian Kulash (Vocals and Guitars), Tim Nordwind (Bass), Dan Konopka (Drums), and Andy Ross (Guitar and Keyboards) are also the same people in the video above of the song Here It Goes. Although this is a Swedish band and is targetting the International market in the music industry, which is like targetting the US first and will be needing a good manager, good producer and a well thought marketing strategy of PR pushes, gig arrangements, guesting and other appearances that often also translate to additional cost for the band. But with OK Go’s creativity, and with modern use of technology, looks like they are getting some worldwide attention.

Their music is somewhat a rock/alternative/punk/pop combination that can be distinct that you can recognize their trademark sound in every song, although the guitars here in the sone Here We Go, remind me a bit of Rick Springfield. With their unique manner of dressing, and attention to details as seen in their videos, website and other artwork just makes them a lot more interesting. There are many video portal websites are out there and the word-of-click as proven again that it can really make a buzz. Ok Go, this Swedish band promoted a unique type of video that grabbed the attention of Yahoo and has listed it recently in their top 9 videos. And music channel VH1 has listed their video Here It Goes in the top 20 where OK Go get’s lined up with very popular international musical artist. Their website contains all sorts of funny viral content, an essential tool in any Internet marketing strategy. Kudos to the band, Ok Go gets my vote on VH1. Ok Go is under the record label Capitol Records and their official website is on OkGo.net.
