Links going to your site are like signs on credibility. The more people that link to your website, the more credible you are. That is one reason why Search Engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN take a look at the amount of links going to your website. Problem is this method of ranking a site can be abused with artificial link building. As some may use the spamming ang jamming technique manual, some people are even lazy and would just buy they way through it, regardless of the links are relevant or not, they just try to win the game of ranking by sheer numbers of links. This is not my style of SEO, and for me if you do everything right, taking note of code to content ratio, keyword density, targetting the long tail, internal linking structure, and all other SEO techniques, you will be surprised you do not need as many links as you thought you needed. But for some, they will still like to find the shortcuts. I have heard people use LinkBuildingDirect and they have had their success in using it. And I have personally seen some of my friends rise in rankings mainly because they availed their service. They promise you 250 or more IBLs for only $24.95 a month. I believe that is a fair price to pay, since many sites out there sometimes charge $25 a month for 1 link alone, and here you get more than 250. Sound like a good deal, but maybe I will only resort to this method when I get a client that is desperate to see results real fast and want them now, as soon as possible. But be careful if you have brand new domains since quick link building in brand new domains are not ideal to do and can get penalized and can decrease your ranking.

It has also made people frustrated when they get kicked out from Adsense. When they get banned and Google disables their Adsense account due to invalid clicks caused by click fraud.

I personally know some people that got banned from the program due to invalid clicks and they find it very hard to get back into Adsense. And they can barely get any clear explanation about the claimed invalid clicks by Google. One thing I suggest is just avoid making MFA websites and read on for more tips from Google how to keep your Google Adsense account alive.

I have just signed up with Enquisite as I have mentioned in my Isulong SEOph SEO blog. And I am very excited about since they are coming up with a new update on comparing PPC and organic traffic. When they get this nailed down, I would be excited more to have an aternative view from a 3rd party and not just relying on Google’s Analytics as the free analytics software out there. Still in beta but looks promising. I used this site for my pilot testing. And my initial feedback would be, it would be really cool if you they had the ability to handle multiple accounts in one login. Although I had to wait for my login account when I signed up, it was still relatively fast within 2 days I think, I got my login and tracking code. Although I got this 2 weeks ago, I was only able to add the code 2 days ago. And so far, it is working fine. Within the 2 days that has passed, I see quickly see the traffic I got from search engines and I am not surprised by most of the keywords where I got traffic from, but I got quite surprised I still get some traffic for Mesothelioma phrases. And surprisingly, it was the highest keyphrase in my stats. The sad thing is, I think it is traffic from some type of spamming crawling engine since that post also got tons of comment spam going to various Mesothelioma pages. But overall, aside from that discovery, Enquisite looks very promising as it is still in it’s beta stage. And I hope it gets better and better and hopefully remains free. But still makes me wonder what is the real revenue model behind this service.

PPC is basically an advertising model for online advertising where advertisers pay only if their ads are clicked on. Sounds simple enough, but actually there is really more to it. I have been playing around with SEO since late 2004 and I was a strict believer of SEO then and believe that it is more effective than a PPC campaign. But as more and more competition come out in the search engine marketing space, SEO and PPC skills have just evolved like a whole new science. And as more competitive the online advertising space becomes, more and more techniques come out and the whole PPC game is something some people really specialize in. And in any business, one of the biggest rules to earn money is simply buy low, sell high. And having an avertising budget is something you really want to minimize and have the biggest resulting effort in sales.

This can sometimes be learned alone on how to maximize your PPC campaigns, but some small business owners sometimes need to require more time devoted in more important decision matters in running their business. And in some cases, it may be better to get help from a PPC management agency, which the cost in getting an company to do this for you may even save you more time and more money. Although if time is on your side, you can always study your own PPC strategy yourself, there are many resources online, and a good place to start is with the PPCbook. I just recently bought my PPC and it just came in the mail today. Definitely a good read that I will finish real quickly. Even with my current SEO knowledge, PPC is just something I need to know more about. I believe this book should be a part of everyone’s PPC/SEO Library.

This is a real quick thing I learned today. Thanks to Jensense and Click This! podcast. If you have 3 adsense codes, the first one in the source code, they are usually higher paying ones. But based on your own CTR in relation to ad positions on pages, the ads on top of the page may not be the one that has the highest CTR. With some HTML/CSS magic, you can position the ads wherever on the page which you know have the high CTR rates and in the code make it the first ad to appear. Now for the how-to’s, hmmm I think this is a good enough as a tip and the people that know what they are doing and you should already see the light this very second.

SEO and SEM terms can be confusing sometimes. People using all these acronyms and SEO slang terms. People talking about SERPs, sharing the link love passing the link juice and using the link condom. Sometimes searching online is not enough since you get into a bunch of search results that talk about the term you are looking for, but still you do not get to find the meaning. What you need is an SEO/SEM dictitionary to find the meaning of some SEO/SEM terms. You can start off by going to any of these two site:

Apogee Search Marketing Glossary

SEO Glossary

Both do not mention the Link Love and Link Juice, although Apogee Search mentions the Link Condom. Maybe they both need to work on their glossaries.
