Quickbase is Down

Software, Technology

After previously working in a company running a very comprehensive, in-house made project management system that works good for collaborative groups, I have been searching for the best equivalent solution since the one at the company I used to work for was proprietary, made by the IT team of the company. Nothing seems to get close to it.

I have played around a lot with DotProjekt and has also signed up on 37Signal’s Basecamp. Although both are powerful, they still lack many features I am looking for in a collaborative PIM.

I now work for a company that decided to run Intuit’s Quickbase. After the demo and also after using it, I find it powerful, comprehensive, intuitive enough for you to figure things out, good for collaboration projects. Although this has a monthly rate, and will be running off the Quickbase server. Although you can brand it with your logo in the corner, the rest is basically all on Quickbase running on their system. I like them a lot so far, but right now, it is 3:30pm, PST, August 11, 2006 and quickbase.com is down probably for 20 minutes already. I wonder how many businesses using their service are not happy right now?

*** Update ***

Quickbase is back up and it is now 4:10pm, PST, August 11, 2006. The Quickbase server is back up again and my estimate is the Quickbase server was down for about an hour and 30 minutes.
