This is not actually that new, it has been in my email for some time, from someone from one of the many mailing list I am a member of. And they say this has been happening around in the UK. Microsoft sends to some people a box saying: Let’s beat the cheats.
Open up the Microsoft box, and you get only a rock. Yes a rock as in a stone inside the box coming from Microsoft.
Take out the stone in the Microsoft box, and you read the message from Microsoft: Let’s leave them no place to hide.
Here is the stone inside the Microsoft box sent to send the message against Microsoft Windows piracy in England.
Included in the Microsoft box is this leaflet and on the cover it says: Together we’ll track down every illegal software supplier we can in (Insert town name here).
Open up the leftlet and you get a letter from Microsoft Great Britain – Michala Alexander – UK Head of Anti-Piracy. Big title of the letter says: We’re coming to your area soon, to track down the software cheats.
…As you’ll see overleaf, we have a consolidated compaign to track down the cheats, including press ads, personal visits and the Piracy Website for you to report anyone you suspect of supplying illegal software…
Microsoft then says a 3 step plan to get the pirated Microsoft Windows suppliers. They say: We’re on ther trail and we need your help. Illegal software suppliers are bad news for everyone. They cheat you and they cheat your customers.
Their 3 step plan is:
- We’re telling them we’re serious.
- We’re coming to visit them.
- We’re asking you to help us track then down.
Ok, now what does the rock that Microsoft sent mean? Do we throw it through the glass window of the store of the supplier? Or this stone will be thrown at you by Microsoft if you do not follow? Or is this biblical? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Is Microsoft saying, turn yourself in, before you throw the stone at the supplier?

Interesting take on the topic. I’ll just throw pandesal at Microsoft instead of rocks.

haha, Microsoft is a bunch of dorks
Bringing people together…. with rocks
I would be a little confused if I were to get that in the mail. Maybe it’s like a candle vigil, but everyone has rocks instead
oh oh, maybe it’s for the suppliers and the big M wants them to beat themselves in the head with it
